Girlz Power winter clothes drive for Christian Shelter Inc.

It’s about to get colder across Delmarva and winter clothes are essential but not everyone has jackets to stay warm.

So one local organization, called Girlz Power is hosting a winter clothes drive. Girlz power is trying to get as many donations as possible to give to the Christian Shelter Inc. in Salisbury.

There’s a great need for it. Right now the Christian Shelter is packed with 50 to 60 people staying every week.

They’ve already gathered a lot and we got a glimpse of just about one third of what they’ve collected so far.

“It’s getting really cold out here and you know you ride down the street all the time and you see people holding homeless signs you know they have no where to go, you know its cold outside. You think how blessed you are you know. Even if you’re going through minor issues you really need to think about the people who don’t have a home or don’t have food or don’t have anything can’t provide for their families,” explains Girlz Power co-founder, Shawna Watson.

Although, the clothing drive isn’t over yet, GIRLZ Power is collecting any winter clothing through next Saturday.

If you have items you want to donate, you can email Girlz Power at
girlzpower2016@gmail.com or message them on Facebook at GIRLZ Power, LLC YWOC.
