Fort Hill Ends Kent County’s Cinderella Run In Semifinals

The Kent County football team watched their season come to an end Saturday afternoon as they fell to 1A power house Fort Hill 49-6. The Trojans finish the season with a 7-6 overall record, while the Sentinels improve to 13-0.
Kent County would receive the opening kickoff, and for a moment it looked like they would throw the first punch. Marcquan Greene would return the ball to midfield to set them up with great field position. Fort Hill’s defense would buckle down and force the punt. A huge punt return would set up a short touchdown run from Raen Smith. After another 3 and out from Kent County, Fort Hill would double their lead with another short touchdown run from Nathaniel Graves. The Trojans would find themselves down 14-0 to start the second, but the Sentinels would quickly grab control from there. Graves would break a 20 yard touchdown run to get it started. Then Greene would drop back to pass before getting hit. The ball would come loose and Noah Steckman, followed by a 45 yard touchdown run from Brayden Brown. Markel Spencer would add the final points of the half off a punt return as the rout was on. The Trojans were finally able to move the ball in the second half as they drove into the redzone a couple times but weren’t able to punch it in. Finally on the last possession of the game, Greene would drop back to pass and throw a strike to Dashawn Lister from 38 yards out. The touchdown was the 85th in Greene’s career, tying him for 5th All-Time in Maryland high school football history. Time would expire though, ending Greene’s incredible career and the Trojans season.
