Dover PD searching for suspect in parking lot shooting

The Dover Police Department says it is investigating a shooting that happened on Sunday afternoon in a hotel parking lot.

According to the report, a 19-year-old boy was meeting an acquaintance in the parking lot of the Holiday Inn at 561 North DuPont Highway. During the meeting, officials say that an unknown suspect approached the driver side of the victim’s car, and then fired at the victim, hitting him in the upper leg. The suspect then proceeded to drive off in a silver car.

Officials noted that the victim was transported to Bayhealth Kent General for treatment of a broken leg as the result of the gunshot wound.
