DelDOT provides helpful Thanksgiving travel tips

Thanksgiving is a few days away and many drivers are starting their commute for the holidays.

DelDOT has provided some tips and pointers on how to stay safe on the roads.

DelDOT says they are expecting Wednesday and Sunday to be the busiest travel dates. They are advising drivers to give themselves extra time to avoid traffic.

Officials also state that main highways will be the most congested roads, including I-95, Route 1, and Route 13.

As far as construction goes, we are told they have stopped all road construction during the holiday. They advise for those to not drive when extremely tired. If you are tired, stop by the Smyrna rest area or I-95 Welcome Center.

DelDOT says drivers can adjust their routes and travels time by using their app here.
