— spoke with folks in delaware today about his findings. the delaware humanities forum hosted the lecture at the lewes library tonight. the topic was presented by professor — doctor marshall becker — of anthropology emeritus at west chester university dr becker presented slides that illustrated the history on the lenape and sick-coe-nih-chin ciconicin people that lived in delaware before the colonists settled in the area. his recent finds gave a better understanding to how they lived and interacted with one another — as well as with colonists — like the swedish and dutch. if you’re in america and you’ve been here 3 4 5 generations the probability that you have native american ancestry somewhere is extremely high — it’s just making the connection and some people are interested in making that connection and others don’t see a point to it doctor becker tells 47 abc his own ancestry inspired his decades of research. still to come tonight… chief meteorologist travis michels
