Community Foundation honors those who help the community

and activists came together for the annual community foundation of the eastern shore report. the purpose of the report – to let the community know where the non profit stands in its mission encourage philanthropy and strengthen communities here on the shore. and also honor those who have gone above and beyond in their service. over the past year the community foundation has served over 400 non profits – and granted 5 point 4 million dollars to our local community. but as the foundation says – their work is only made possible by the extreme support they receive in the area. 182923 i think one of the best things about living on the lower shore is that we have such a wonderful community that is so involved in making the area better and better each year and giving back to one another 182932 among the awards handed out today at the luncheon – melody nelson received the charimans award – which is given to someone who has given outstanding service to the foundation. mary gladys jones – who actually has a separate award named after her – received the frank h morris humanitarian award – given to someone who make outstanding – sustained – and unselfish contributions to the community. and walt mccabe – received the mary gladys jones volunteer of the year award – given to the individual who has given countless hours of their time to volunteer. now in your
