Chick-fil-A partners with HALO for community food drive

With thanksgiving right around the corner, Chick-fil-A of Salisbury and HALO partnered up for a food drive Tuesday night.
The fast food chain does this every year, so HALO can continue to feed the hundreds of homeless people the community.
Since HALO is strictly run by donations, it’s food drives like this that allow them to continue serving around 225 meals a day.
Over 81,000 meals were served to the homeless just last year.
HALO’s Executive Director, Celeste Savage, says this food drive is huge for them because they are always in need.
“These cans of beans and peas and corn a lot of people think about when they’re getting this, you know, they don’t realize that it takes 60 of these cans to feed in the shelter at night. So it’s really it’s awesome that with the ford coming in that we calculate it out and we say this is amazing we’ll be able to serve peas. We’ll be able to serve the baked beans or whatever comes in,” explains Savage.
Savage adds the out pour of donations they receive at this food drive from the community make it possible for HALO to serve baked beans and peas at their meals.
