Bennett claws past Chesapeake in playoff opener

The James M. Bennett Clippers top-seeded volleyball team advanced to the section II final on Monday afternoon, defeating Chesapeake (AA) 3-0 in Salisbury.

The Clippers would go down by as many as 8 points (12-4) in the first set, before the likes of Cassie LeCates, Morgan Esham, Faith Smith, and Ashlyn Brock let off a furious rally, coming all the way back and eventually taking the first set by a final of 25-18.

The Clippers advance to host the section final against Atholton on Wednesday at 5 pm in Salisbury.
