Armed robbery in Dover development under investigation

The Delaware State Police say they are investigating a robbery that happened on Monday evening.

According to the report, the incident happened around 9:30PM, as a 57-year-old man was walking in the area of the 1000 block of Nathaniel Mitchell Road.

Officials say the man was approached by three suspects, one armed with an unknown type handgun, and was assaulted by them. After one of the suspects allegedly hit the victim in the back of the head with the gun, the others reportedly took money from him and ran off in an unknown direction.

Officials note that the victim was taken to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital where he was treated and released with non-life-threatening injuries.

All three suspects were described in the report as men wearing masks, and one was armed with an unknown type handgun.
