A Rehoboth Beach gym turns working out into fun

Some people may dread going to the gym or even working out but one new gym in Rehoboth Beach is making exercise fun.
RISE Fitness + Adventure is a 24,000 sq. ft. adult playground.
Owner Amanda Peters says when they designed RISE, they designed it with the idea that it needed it to be diverse. She says, “We needed to have a lot of different apparatuses that we wouldn’t be bored with the same thing.”
Peters says that they brought in unique pieces of equipment that those may not be used to seeing.
Unique pieces like battle ropes to move up and down, pushing sleds back and forth on turf, a punching bag, and most importantly a 34-inch tall indoor rock wall, which owners say is the only one in Sussex County.
Peters tells 47 ABC that rock climbing is a very diverse exercise. It is something you can do for hours at a time and you do not feel like you’re working out. She states you build strength, flexibility, and even burn calories.
Rock climbing is a full body work out, where you use your hands to grip, your legs to push, and your core to stabilize your body.
Company director Ryan Peters says they put in much detail in the entire place and the idea of coming out to have fun has been a big hit.
RISE is open Monday through Friday 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
