Worcester Co. crash under investigation after death of Md. woman

Maryland troopers in Berlin say they’re investigating a fatal crash Tuesday night in Worcester County, that claimed the life of a Maryland woman.

According to reports, 40-year-old Renee Jackson of Baltimore was driving south on Route 12 in the area of Slim Chance Lane just before 10:30 PM. Investigators say that’s when for unknown reasons, her vehicle traveled across the north bound lane of Route 12, then continued off-road, entered the roadside ditch and struck a drain pipe.

Jackson was reportedly the sole occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced deceased on scene. Her body has sense been sent to the Office of Chief Medical Examiners for autopsy.

Officials say, the contributing factors to the collision are still being determined and the investigation is ongoing.

This investigation was reportedly assisted by the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, Worcester County Fire Police, Snow Hill Fire Department and Maryland Office of Chief Medical Examiners.
