Wicomico County Board Education question finally on the ballot

In Wicomico County one of the big questions on this year’s ballot concerns how the county board of education will be selected in the future. 

County residents will be able to vote on whether the school board will all be elected whether they’ll be all appointed or whether it will be a combination of both.

This past year the Wicomico County Council held several public forums on the matter to gauge the interest of the public of putting this question on the ballot. 

Citizens backed the decision and after Senate Bill 145 passed in Annapolis the question was officially added to the ballot. 

As the board of education stands currently all seven members are appointed by the governor.
