UPDATE: Troopers seeking help to identify suspect in Milford

The Delaware State Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a home invasion that happened south of Milford early Friday morning.

According to the report, around 3:30AM on Friday, a man entered the back door of a home located in the 10000 block of Rust Road.

Officials say the suspect confronted a 62-year-old male and his 48-year-old wife armed with an unknown type handgun and threatened to do harm to them both. The husband and wife, along with a 28-year-old male who lives in the house, said they retreated to a master bedroom and locked the door.  

A 9-1-1 call was placed by the 62-year-old male victim and when  the troopers arrived, all the occupants of the home were safely evacuated.

Officials note that a search of the house and property by troopers and Milford Police Officers was unsuccessful in locating the suspect, however none of the victim’s were injured in the incident.

The suspect was described in the report as male, 20-30 year of age, 5’09” – 5’10” tall, 160-165 lbs. wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, and a red mask over his face, and armed with unknown type handgun.

A surveillance photo from a nearby store caught footage of the suspect and a dark colored passenger car the suspect may be driving.
