UPDATE: Georgetown assault suspect arrested in Seaford

The Delaware State Police say they have arrested a man in connection with an assault that happened late Sunday night.
According to the report, around 11:15PM on Sunday, troopers found Juan Carlos Tovar Cruz, 22, of Georgetown in the area of Concord Road, Route 20, west of County Seat Highway, Route 9, in Seaford after a call was made for a suspicious person in the area.
Officials say that Cruz was taken into custody without incident, and then transported to Troop 4 Georgetown. Cruz was formally charged with one count of assault 1st degree and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony.
He was arraigned before Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed in default of $80,000 cash bond.

While conducting a death investigation in Georgetown, Delaware State Police Detectives report that they found out about a separate assault that had happened.
Police say they are limiting information released on this assault at this time, so as not to jeopardize the on-going death investigation.
The assault suspect was identified by officials as Juan Carlos Tovar Cruz, 22, of Georgetown. A warrant was secured for Cruz for one count of assault 1st degree and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony.
Juan Carlos Tovar Cruz is described in the report as a man, 22-years-old, about 5’06” tall, and weighing 200 lbs.
