UPDATE: Delmar teen has been sentenced for shooting death of Fruitland teen

beginning in wicomico county with the latest on ky’shir connally — who was sentenced today. in august — connally was convicted of 10 charges related to the shooting death of 17-year-old rakim russell. connally was sentenced today to 45 years in prison. 47 a-b-c’s lili zheng joins us live in the studio — lili — connally is the last defendant to be tried and sentenced in this case. david — that’s right. connally’s trial followed the trials of jarrett stokes and larry ennis. stokes and ennis — were both sentenced to life in relation to this case. however — as we reported in august — connally was found not guilty of first degree murder. this — meaning life in prison was not an option. now in court today — several of the ten total convictions were merged. those including — second degree murder and first degree assault. for those charges — the judge handed down a 30 year sentence. that is expected to be served concurrently with first degree assault. while it was revealed during trial that connally was not the shooter — a fifteen year sentence was handed down for the use of a firearm. that will be served consecutively. his family tells 47 a-b-c — despite not facing life in prison — this sentence is simply not fair. 22:26:01 i feel as though this whole thing was rushed. it wasn’t taken to a point where it was…investigated properly 15 now stacy — who you just heard from — tells us they do plan to appeal. as for the state — a prosecutor tells us they are happy for rakim russell’s family — that this case is over. david — alright, thank you lili. 47 a-b-c’s lili zheng reporting live in studio with us tonight. also in court in salisbury today and somewhat related —
