Trial dates set for Pocomoke misconduct case 2

ongoing racial discrimination saga in worcester county, maryland. and they’re demanding a jury trial. court documents show the justice department filed a motion to intervene — in what was the private lawsuit of three former pocomoke city officers. franklin savage, kelvin sewell, and lynell green — allege that the worcester county sheriff and the state of maryland subjected franklin savage to a racially-hostile work environment. and when he filed a number of complaints — they claim this resulted in retaliation — including the loss of his job. kelvin sewell — who was formerly the police chief — and lynell green — who was his lieutenant — say that pocomoke city also retaliated against them — for supporting savage. sewell was fired in june of last year. green resigned earlier this year. all three men filed equal employment opportunity commission complaints. it was the e-e-o-c in baltimore — that referred the complaints to the justice department. the united states is now seeking workplace policy changes in pocomoke city, worcester county, and the state of maryland — as well as monetary relief for the three former officers. speaking of kelvin sewell and lynell green — both had a criminal motions hearing today — in an unrelated case. they’re facing misconduct in office charges. the indictment was issued in july. sewell and green allegedly interfered with a car crash investigation — in november of 2014. the indictment states they did this to benefit a local correctional officer — douglas matthews. few other case details were included. both are face similar counts – conspiracy to commit misconduct in office — and misconduct in office. sewell’s trial is scheduled for december 1st — and green’s is scheduled for december 19th. accused murderer and rapist — matthew burton —
