Traffic pattern change coming to US 13 (Salisbury bypass)

Starting next Monday, drivers who take the US 13 Salisbury bypass can expect a major temporary traffic pattern change, that’s due to the start of an 11-bridge rehabilitation project.

SHA officials say they will be using ramp crossovers, concrete barriers, and signage to redirect US 13 northbound drivers to the south bound side of US 13 before the US 50 interchange. SHA officials tell 47 ABC the biggest thing they want motorist to keep in mind is the speed limit, which will be reduced to 55 through the work zone. SHA will return back to normal traffic flow next May in anticipation for beach traffic, however all work is expected to be completed by summer 2018.
