Three dead in Crisfield house fire

According to the the State Fire Marshal, at around 6:30 a.m., Somerset County Emergency Operations were notified about a fire located at 2688 Johnson Creek Road in Crisfield.
Nearly 50 firefighters responded from Crisfield and several other local volunteer fire companies. Within 90 minutes after firefighters arrived on the scene, they were able to bring the fire under control.
Three family members were able to escape, but one adult and two children were unable to escape in time and passed away in the fire.
Several family pets were injured in the fire as well.
The Chief Medical Examiner has transported the deceased to confirm identity and cause of death.
Investigators say the preliminary loss estimates to the structure and contents is $80,000.
The Office of the State Fire Marshal say there were no working smoke alarms located during the on-scene investigation, but they are still trying to determine the origin and cause of the fire.
