Snow Hill Police Chief James Pilchard steps down

Officials say a police chief in Worcester County has decided to step down.

According to Snow Hill Mayor Charlie Dorman, Snow Hill Police Chief James Pilchard has stepped down as chief to become an investigator with the state’s attorney’s office, work that he has already begun over the past two weeks.

Pilchard, who stepped down on September 30,  took over as chief in May of 2015.

Mayor Dorman says that Chief Pilchard has done a wonderful job.

The notice for a new police chief is currently posted on the Town of Snow Hill’s website.
