Seaford man pleads guilty and is sentenced after reported robbery in Harrington

A Seaford man arrested after a reported strong arm robbery of a 76-year-old man at the Delaware State Fairgrounds pleaded guilty and was sentenced in Kent County, Thursday.

According to officials, 30-year-old Brandon Givens of Seaford, pleaded guilty to one count of second degree robbery, and was sentenced to five years level five, suspended for one year of level three probation.

Givens was arrested in September after police say he took cash from a victim’s hand on Delaware State Fairgrounds on South Dupont Highway in Harrington, and tried to run away.

Good Samaritans reportedly stopped Givens, the money was taken back to the victim, and the victim was not injured.
