Salisbury man guilty of murder and firearm offense

On Thursday, Joshua Perry, 18, of Salisbury, was convicted by a Wicomico County Judge of murder 1st degree.
Officials say that the charges are linked to a shooting that happened on May 16.
An investigation conducted by the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit and the Salisbury Police Department was able to find out that on May 16, officers discovered the body of Keonte Gaskins in the stairwell of the Waterside apartment complex.
Also on Thursday, Perry plead guilty to a firearms offense from a second incident that happened on May 28. Officials say that Perry was identified as one of multiple suspects who was involved in a robbery with a firearm, and sentencing has been postponed in both matters.
Wicomico County State’s Attorney, Ella M. Disharoon, commended the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit, Det/Sgt. Sabrina Metzger, as well as the Salisbury City Police Department, Det. A.J. Foy, for their work in the investigation and prosecution of this case.
Ms. Disharoon also thanked Senior Assistant State’s Attorney Kristen Schultz and Senior Assistant State’s Attorney Karen Dean who prosecuted the case.
