Salisbury man arrested after reported domestic assault

The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy arrested a man on Sunday after reports of a disturbance at a Salisbury home.
Officials say that around 1AM, a deputy responded to a reported disturbance at a home on Glen Avenue in Salisbury.
When the deputy arrived, they met with the couple who lived there and learned a verbal argument had escalated into a physical fight.
According to the victim in the case, John Beauchamp hit her in the face and then held her down on the bed with his hands around her throat.
During the investigation, the deputy says they saw signs of injury to the victim that matched her account, as well as seeing how the door of the bathroom had been forcibly kicked open by Beauchamp.
The deputy placed Beauchamp under arrest and took him to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. Following an initial appearance and charging him with assault second degree and reckless endangerment, the Commissioner detained Beauchamp in the Detention Center in lieu of $15,000 bond.
