Salisbury City Council to vote to replace councilwoman’s seat

Officials say the Salisbury City Council will vote on Monday to fill council woman Laura Mitchell’s seat during next monday’s council meeting.

According to a city clerk, there will not be a special election to fill the empty seat because the city code does not mandate one.

City Council President Jack Heath tells 47ABC that they are considering Ray Sander, Hsin Cheu, or R. Hardy Rudasil.

This announcement comes after Mitchell stepped down in September, so that she could be closer to her family in Rockville.
