Queen Anne’s Roars Past Wi-Hi

The Queen Anne’s football team continued to steam roll through their schedule Thursday night after traveling to Wi-Hi and earning a 38-0 win. The win improves the Lions to 7-1, while the loss drops the Indians to 3-5.
The Lions would jump out to a quick lead after Jykel Gardner would break a big run for a score. After the Indians would be forced to punt, Queen Anne’s would again be on the move. They would work their way down into the redzone before the drive stalled, settling for a field goal. The Indians would then go for it on 4th and 10 from midfield, but wouldn’t be able to pick up the first on the sweep to the left side. The Lions then converted the good field into a quick score as Mike D’Angelo would find Tyler Bonner from 40 yards out to stretch the lead to 17-0. The Indians would have to punt again, and again the Lions would come out firing. They would fumble the ball on the 20 yards line before Brandon Hickman would scoop it up and take it to the house for 6. The very next possession he would break a 40 yard run for a score as the rout was on. Just before half, D’Angelo would throw a strike to Wyatt Pinder to push the lead to 38. The Indians would continue to battle in the second half as quarterback Jason Patterson would be able to move the ball in spurts, but it wasn’t enough.
Queen Anne’s returns to action on Friday when they travel to play North Caroline, while Wi-Hi host Easton on Friday.
