Queen Anne’s Field Hockey Rolls Past Saints

The Queen Anne’s field hockey team picked up yet another conference win Tuesday afternoon when they topped St. Michaels 3-0. The win improves the Lions to 7-1-1, while the loss drops the Saints to 2-7.
The Lions would get on the board first after Sara Walford would come up with a lose ball in the box and fire it home early on in the match. The Saints defense would buckle down from there as Julianna Barnes would come up with several nice saves in goal. The Lions would take a 1-0 lead into halftime, but got their offense going in the second half. They would stretch their lead to 2-0 after Walford would send a pass to the far post where Meredith Camper would be able to get a stick on it and send it in. The Lions would add one more goal to insure the win after that.
Queen Anne’s returns to action on Thursday when they face off against North Dorchester, while the Saints travel to Kent County on Wednesday.
