Police in Milford say they have begun their yearly holiday season outreach for area families in need with a fundraiser.

According to the department, they try to do their part to help area families in need, and one of their major fundraising efforts is in conjunction with the Johnson family. They say that they are selling tickets for a chance to win a seafood feast for 10 in Milford at Sunset Cove.

Police say that people can buy tickets at the Milford Police Department for $1 a piece, six for $5, or 15 for $10. For anyone interested in assisting the department with helping area families this holiday season, they can call Ruth Barkley in our Records Division at 302.422.8081 ext 118.

Police say they value the opportunity to help Milford families in need throughout the holiday season, and that the fundraiser is part of what they do. They also reportedly work with nearby organizations with getting toys for children in the area, and one of their most rewarding initiatives is meals they are able to deliver to families for Thanksgiving.

Police say their initiatives are not  possible without the community’s support, and they truly appreciate the support they receive.
