underwater after what officials described as close to – if not record breaking flooding. 47 abc’s julian sadur was there to asses the damage and see how locals are holding up. believe or not people in snow hill tell me the scene behind me is not that bad compared to what the flooding was this weekend and even though parts of snow hill are still under water county officials and business owners i spoke to say the attention is now focused on cleaning up track for bill candy – owner riverside auction co. at the cannery in snow hill – much of monday was spent doing this – using a shop vac to clean out the water from his business. 30 seconds – the bucket inside the vacuum cleaner fill up – and then it’sime to dump it. candy says the flooding in snow hill is the worst he’s seen in a while water coming through the building, last time that happened was sandy track despite the flooding though candy seemed in good spirits – and when i asked him why im 76 years old and the good lord has never thrown anything at me i can’t handle, you know so you just take it in stride there’s no need in crying over spilt milk, you know its happened and that’s it go on don’t fret that’s the way i look at it track for snow hill – the worst flooding still lies at byrd park – and right at the city’s entrance on snow hill road. those like garrow king say the road being shutdown – is more than just a inconvenience – it’s hurting business. its been very difficult for snow hill, the businesses here because of the loss of direct contt with the city of salisbury they’ll wait for the waters to recede before they come into town and in the meantime businesses suffer now as when all this water behind me will officially clear out and go back to the pocomoke river. county officials say there really is no timetable however they hope it shouldn’t take more than a couple of days. reporting in snow hill julian sadur 47 abc staying on the topic of snow hill road – a little more towards salisbury near
