Ocean city officials announced a service that allows voters to have easy access to polls on Election Day

In terms of casting your ballot, those decisions are going to be made soon. With Election Day just under two weeks away, Ocean City officials announced today a service that allows voters to have easy access to polls.
Ocean City residents and visitors can expect free bus passage all day long this Election Day.
Ocean City’s communications manager, Jessica Waters, tells us about the operational hours. She says this free service, known as the No Fare Policy, is going to be in affect from 6:20 in the morning to 11:35 at night on Election Day.
Waters says the national elections coincide with OC’s municipal election.
The No Fare Policy will also add four extra buses to the system, which will be stopping all around Ocean City.
Transportation Operations Manager Steve Bartlett says it will allow the buses to stop more frequently on November 8th.
Bartlett says the service scheduled now is set for 40 minutes and they are increasing the bus service to 15 minutes to make sure they get every onepicked up and into the polls on time for their vote.
Bartlett says they started this free bus service on Election Day 2012 and have seen positive results since.
He states, “I think there was an increase ridership due to voting and there was a definite increase because it was free. But the city is all about getting people around where they need to go and we’re going to make sure they will get to the polls if they need to.”
