Maryland police engage in a drug take-back initiative

The headline read “Let Troopers dispose of Unwanted prescription drugs” and we were told, they did just that.

The Maryland State Police teamed up with the drug enforcement administration for “National Drug Take Back Day.” Where folks were asked to dispose of unwanted prescription drugs. Dozens of Maryland state police barracks participated in this initiative. Each Barrack was a collection station for any and all unwanted and unused prescription drugs

This initiative aims to provide a safe, convenient and responsible means of disposing prescription drugs. Last year troopers collected over two thousand pounds of prescription drugs. Nationally, this effort collected nearly nine hundred thousand pounds of medication
