Man arrested on drug and gun charges in Seaford

Police say a man has been arrested on drug and gun charges in Seaford.
According to Seaford Police, an officer saw 49-year-old Darrell Bivens of Seaford, near Conwell Street. Bivens was reportedly wanted on an outstanding warrant from family court with a $44,000 bond, and arrested without incident. Officers reportedly found 38 bags of heroin, two grams of crack cocaine, and $1,643 in suspected drug proceeds on Bivens.
Police say a search warrant was served for Bivens home on Conwell Street and officers found an additional 117 bags of heroin, four grams of marijuana, two handguns, and 151 rounds of ammunitions for the handguns. Officers also reportedly found a switch blade knife. Bivens was reportedly arraigned by videophone, and committed to Sussex Correctional in lieu of $259,000 bond. Bivens also reportedly had an active warrant out of family for failure to appear with a $44,000 bond.
Bivens was reportedly charged with:
- possession of a controlled substance, heroin- tier two quantity
- person with a prior conviction of use or sale of dangerous drugs
- possession of a controlled substance without a prescription
- maintaining a property for dealing drugs
- carry concealed deadly weapon
- possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited two counts
- possession of ammunition by a person prohibited
- possession of drug paraphernalia three counts
- possession of a firearm during commission of a felony two counts
