Man arrested in connection to 2010 homicide

A man has been arrested in connection to a homicide from back in 2010.

According to the report, investigation efforts from Detective Sergeant Matthew Hall, of the Wilmington Police Criminal Investigations Division, Special Agent Veronica Hnat of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives, and Wilmington Police Cold Case Squad Investigator Robert Partlow, allowed them to extradite Erick McNeely, 36, from the State of Maryland and turn him over to the Wilmington Police Department on Thursday, October 20.

Officials say McNeely was arrested on the charges of murder in the 1st degree, and two counts of attempted murder in the 1st degree in reference to the May 1, 2010 homicide investigation of Abel Jimenez-Flores in the 600 block of South Franklin Street.

He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 20 and committed to the Howard Young Correctional facility in lieu of $1.5 million dollars cash bail.
