Man arrested for DUI in Salisbury on Friday

On Friday evening, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office says they arrested the same man after a traffic stop for the second time in September.

According to the report, around 6:20PM, a deputy saw a car driven by Dustin Tippett, 42, of Salisbury, that was stopped in the travel lane of Beaglin Park Drive.

After talking with Tippett, the deputy says the they could smell strong alcohol, and Tippett told the deputy that the car was suffering from mechanical issues.

The deputy saw that the car was equipped with an ignition interlock device, and it was presumed that this device was part of what had disabled Tippett’s car.

The deputy gave a sobriety test to Tippett which he performed poorly on, so Tippett was placed under arrest for DUI.

According to the report, Tippett was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, attempting to drive a motor vehicle with alcohol in blood in violation of restriction, and violating a license restriction.

Tippett was released upon the issuance of citations.

The Sheriff’s Office also notes that Tippet was arrested earlier in the month on September 2, and he was then charged with driving under the influence of alcohol per se, violating a license restriction, and driving without headlights. After that incident, Tippett was also released upon the issuance of citations.
