Late Goal Line Stands Lifts Kent Island To Win At Easton

The Kent Island football team kept their perfect season going Friday night after pulling off a late goal line stand to earn a 14-7 win. The win improves the Buccaneers to 8-0, while the loss drops the Warriors to 5-3.

Easton would strike first with a touchdown in the early goings of the game. The Warriors defense looked intent to hold onto that lead, as they would limit the Buccaneers to only a couple field goals throughout the rest of the first half. The teams continued to have a defensive battle in the third before a Warriors turnover would swing the momentum of the game. Kent Island would march down the field before Brayden Doyle would take a 10 yard touchdown run up the middle to give the Bucs the lead. The Warriors would look to respond as Mason Ledford would find a man open on the sideline for a big pickup, taking Easton down to the five. Looking for the game tying touchdown, the Warriors would fumble the ball, with Kent Island’s Brandon Galloway. Kent Island’s defense would do the rest as they held on for the win.

Easton returns to action next Friday when they travel to Wi-Hi, while Kent Island host Parkside on Friday.
