On Tuesday morning, the Wicomico County Council council voted unanimously to accept a land donation from the city of Salisbury to expand the Henry Parker Athletic Complex.

According to the agenda from Tuesday morning’s meeting, the land totals just over 6 acres.

47ABC is told that eight new baseball diamonds will be built on the land.

Officials say they are working now to plan the construction with the hope that it commences within the next few months, and it will be open by the spring of 2018.

47ABC is also told that the new diamonds will be built on top of existing soccer fields. Those who use those soccer fields will be relocated within the county.
