Kings of Georgetown, Central pounds Tech

The Sussex Central Golden Knights moved to 3-1 on the season, defeating rival Sussex Tech 49-14 on Saturday night.

The Ravens would come out fired up, marking down the field and capping the drive off with a short touchdown run from Isaiah Brown. The lead wouldn’t last for very long though as Central would fire right back. Kendrique Nocks would break a 56 yard touchdown run on the Golden Knights’ first play from scrimmage to tie the game up. After the Ravens would be forced to punt, Central would score again after Tim Jones would bust loose from midfield and take one in from 52 yards out. Central wasn’t done just yet as Brady Bowden then got the passing attack going, finding Mark Tolson for a 15 yard strike. Brown would have the answer for Tech after that as the Ravens cut the deficit down to 21. But the Golden Knights weren’t done making their point just yet. Jones would score two more times in the second quarter, before Bowden would add a short touchdown on a keeper in the 4th to ice the game.

Both teams are back in action next Friday, when Central visits Cape, while Tech travels to Caesar Rodney.
