Kent County Girls Soccer Edge Mardela

The Kent County girls soccer team picked up a nice road win Monday afternoon when they traveled to Mardela and pulled out a 2-0 win. The win improves the Trojans to 6-6, while the loss drops the Warriors to 1-10.
The teams would be in a defensive battle early on. The teams exchanged possession and shots on goal, but Warriors keeper Kayla Cook and Trojans keeper Lexi Langenfelder would turn everyone of them back. Headed into halftime tied scoreless, Kent County would come out firing. Just 18 minutes into the second half, and the Trojans would score on a break away to take the lead. Shortly after that, Katie Jones would be able to fire another one in on a breakaway, after she beat the keeper far post. The Trojans defense would do the rest as they closed out the game for the win.
Mardela returns to action on Tuesday when they travel to North Dorchester, while Kent County awaits the release of the State Tournament draw.
