IR comes up big late in win over Laurel

The Indian River Indians improved to 2-0 in the Henlopen South, defeating Laurel 24-22 on Friday night.

The Indians got two scores from running back Gerald Foreman and made a strong defensive stand late to hold on the the win. The Bulldogs would take the lead late after Perez Nichols would call his own number on a quarterback keeper and get to the pylon on the right side. But the Indians had enough time left on the clock to drive down the field and kick the go-ahead game-winning field goal from Andrew White with less than a minute to go in the game.

Both teams are back in action on Friday night, when IR travels to Milford, while Laurel hosts Lake Forest.
