Indian River Football Earns First Win, Runs Past Seaford

The Indian River football team earned their first win of the season Monday afternoon when they traveled to Seaford and rolled to a 60-20 win. The win improves the Indians to 1-3, while the loss drops the Blue Jays to 1-3.
Indian River would score on their first play from scrimmage after Gerald Foreman would take a hand off, break it to the outside and go 61 yards to the house. On the Blue Jays ensuing drive, they would attempt a pass into the flats that Foreman would pick off and take 36 yards to the house for his second score of the game. After the Indians were able to force another stop, their offense would continue to roll. George Martin would break a big run up the left sideline, before taking another hand off up the middle and punch it into the endzone. Then in the second quarter, Martin would take a screen pass from Jalen Snead, and cut it up field for the score. The touchdown pass was the first of Snead’s career. Though down big, the Blue Jays continued to fight. Isiah Lake would air a pass deep down the left sideline and find DeShaun Taylor for the first of their two touchdown connections. But the Indians continued to attack. Kevin Custis would break a fancy run up the middle from 24 yards out just before the end of the first half for his first career touchdown run. The defense would do the rest for the Indians in the second half as they rolled to the win.
Indian River returns to action on Friday when they host Laurel, while Seaford host Milford on their homecoming on Friday.
