Georgia man arrested after allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend, again

On Saturday, the Laurel Police Department says it arrested a Georgia man after reports of a domestic incident.
According to the report, Laurel officers launched an investigation after being sent to a domestic incident on West 7th Street in Laurel.
Robert Hill, 37, of Ashburn, Georgia, apparently broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home and physically assaulted her, causing non-life threatening injuries.
Officials say Hill then stole her cell phone so she would not be able to call the police or an ambulance for help.
The ex-girlfriend was later taken to Nanticoke Hospital where she was treated for her injuries and released.
Hill was eventually found during a traffic stop and taken into custody.
Officials found out that Hill also had a pending warrant for his arrest from an earlier domestic incident involving the same victim.
Hill was charged with the following:
- Home invasion
- Strangulation
- Terroristic threatening
- 2 counts of assault 3rd degree
- 2 counts of Theft Under $1500
He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in default of a $48,000 cash bond.
