hurricane matthew. recovery efforts are underway to help haiti — where officials say at least one-hundred and eight people have died. some of those efforts — right here on delmarva. 47 a-b-c’s lili zheng joins us live in studio tonight. lili — for several churches — this storm hits close to home. david — that’s right. we spoke to the delmar haitian church of the nazarene. that church — serves up to three-hundred members. many of whom — with strong ties to haiti — and they’re doing everything they can to help. they don’t have the house to live in, so you know…they don’t have food or clothes or anything track 1 and clermite cleh-meet thibeau’s te-bow family — is not alone. thibeau has lived in the united states for twenty-five years — mostly in sussex county — but she tells 47 a-b-c most of her family — still lives in haiti. the country — ravaged by hurricane matthew — has left more than 15-hundred homes flooded and roughly 27-hundred families affected. haiti, one of the poorest countries in the world, already suffering from a range of previous disasters, has been hit really hard by this storm, and we anticipate that they are going to need substantial help.” track 2 that call for help — is being answered by the delmar haitian church of the nazarene. starting on sunday — the church — located on hideaway lane — will start collecting items to donate. money, clothes and non-perishable foods will be shipped to haiti. the country is facing its largest humanitarian crisis since an earthquake in 20-10. whenever they have hurricane in haiti, they <church do it until it’s like everything is over and until you know it’s nobody complaining they’re lacking of something so everybody try to help> track 3 — as haiti prepares to pick up pieces once again. imagine your own kids…so if you have your own kids, you don’t have anything to feed them, how would you feel? butt sot it doesn’t matter, like…you’re a christian or you a non-christian, we always have to help each other we’re told — the church will accept any donations — even if you are not a member. donations can be dropped off at their hideaway lane location in delmar. david — alright, thank you lili. 47 a-b-c’s lili zheng reporting live in our studio tonight. as we hear of more organizations offering assistance — we’ll be sure to keep you updated. you can find a list of those participating — on our website — 47 a-b-c dot com. “pink is the new greene” — that’s the theme this month at green
