Cover For Cancer is supporting those who have lost their hair during chemotherapy

Cover For Cancer is a support group trying to raise awareness for those dealing with cancer and they do it in a very unique way.

People can wear something on their head, such as a hat or wig, to support those dealing with the disease, particularly those who have lost their hair during chemotherapy.

A local, Paula Morris, started to spread the word around here in Delmarva, after her sister’s friend was diagnosed with cancer.

Paula’s sister then took it her upon herself to shave her head to show support.

She says that people were starting to treat her differently and she was feeling empathy for those who have to cover their head daily.

Through social media, all of their friends across the country have been passing this idea along. And Morris, who works at Salisbury University is no exception.

Morris says this awareness is not a money raiser but it is out respect for those going through chemotherapy.

Morris tells 47 ABC there is an organization called Stand Up to Cancer in order to make a contribution, if you wanted to do that instead of covering your head.
