Cambridge SD Girls Soccer Post Shutout Over CR

The Cambridge SD girls soccer team picked up a nice conference win Thursday night when they defeated Colonel Richardson 2-0. The win improves the Vikings to 6-5, while the loss drops the Colonels to 3-8.

The Vikings would be on the attack early on and score the games first goal after Abby Robinson after she would be able to beat the keeper near post. Shortly after that, CSD almost pushed their lead to 2-0 after Emily Brohawn was able to settle a ball in the box, turn and fire but would hit it off the cross bar. The Vikings would take the one goal lead into halftime, and come out pushing again in the second half. Brooke Windsor would be taken down in the box, drawing a penalty kick. She would take the kick and fire it home to double the lead for the Vikings. The Colonels then turned u their intensity and were able to control the possession a little bit more. They would begin to fire a couple shots on goal with Kaylie Moore having an opportunity late with a free kick. But every shot was turned aside by Sarah Brooks as the Vikings would close it out for the win.

Cambridge SD returns to action on Monday when they travel to Snow Hill for their regular season finale, while Colonel Richardson host Snow Hill on Tuesday.
