Bumper “T” Caring Clowns spreading the word that “not all clowns are bad”

On Tuesday, a group from Bumper “T” Caring Clowns met with the Chief of Easton Police and Sheriff for Talbot County apparently hoping to help spread awareness of their organization’s mission.
Chief David Spencer and Sheriff Joe Gamble say they met with clowns Dr. Goodwrench-aka Ken Sadler, Nurse Lily Belle-aka Brenda Stone, Dr. Gesundheit-aka Walt Cuttler, and Dr. Ducktape-aka Paul Raphel, in front of the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Easton to tell the public about their program and to say that “not all clowns are bad”.
The release from the Easton Police Department’s Lt. Gregory Wright says,
“What our police representatives observed was a group of dedicated, compassionate, caring individuals…clowns, who have a strong desire to lift the spirits of hospital patients. Whether there due to an injury or illness, these clowns possess a powerful and effective tool to promote the healing process.
“Understanding that the power of positive humor helps people heal, these clowns visit patients of all ages and from all wards.
“They are always professional and respectful; always asking first if patients and family would like to be visited. These clowns may be spontaneous and playful, or may offer a willing ear and shoulder to cry on. It’s the organization’s conviction that these visits can help nurture a patients’ spirits, ease some of their stress, and play a role unlike any other in the hospital.”
“This is a wonderful program that we support. It’s a shame that recent reports, across the nation about clowns conducting criminal acts are distracting from all the positive things that these volunteers are doing,” said Chief David Spencer
The Bumper “T” Caring Clowns are a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit organization, represented by over 100 clowns, which have a mission of spreading smiles throughout hospitals. This organization currently visits approximately 30 hospitals in 6 states. To learn more about
