Bucs shut out Warriors to clinch Bayside North

The Kent Island boys soccer team clinched their first Bayside North Title since 2011 on Thursday afternoon when they defeated Easton 3-0. The win improves the Buccaneers to 10-0, while the loss drops the Warriors to 7-1.

It was Kent Island from the start, jumping to a lead with Ryan Knagg’s goal. The Warriors defense would lock in from there as Walter Morris would come up with several nice saves on his way to finishing with a game high. The Bucs would take a 1-0 lead into halftime, but come out firing in the second half. Carter Duncan notched a breakaway goal early in the second half.  Kent Island would then put the match away as Blake Groves would add the final score of the afternoon.

Kent Island returns to work on Monday when they travel to North Dorchester, while Easton travels to Queen Anne’s on Friday.
