Blanchard’s Goal Lifts Queen Anne’s Girls Soccer Past Easton

The Queen Anne’s girls soccer team picked up a nice conference win Tuesday afternoon when they defeated Easton 1-0 off a goal from Abby Blanchard. The win improves the Lions to 7-3, while the Warriors drop to 5-3-1.

The Lions would come out strong, getting an early goal from Abby Blanchard after she sent one top shelf. Queen Anne’s continued to fire shot after shot on goal from there, but Miranda Otwell came up with several incredible saves for the Warriors to keep her team close. Easton would look for the equalizer at the other end and would have a great opportunity with a free kick from outside the box. Katty Hamond would send one into the box, but Emma Hill would get to it at the last second for the Lions and come up with the save. Queen Anne’s defense would close it out from there for the win.

Queen Anne’s returns to action on Thursday when they host Parkside, while Easton travels to Snow Hill on Thursday.
