Berlin man dies after reported car crash in Worcester County

Officials say a Berlin man has died after a car crash on Tuesday morning in Worcester County.

According to the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, around 11:20AM on Tuesday, officials responded to Worcester Highway south of Racetrack Road in Showell where a toyota camry had reportedly crashed into a wooden utility pole. Officials say the pole was knocked down and the toyota had front end damage.

Officials say the driver, 81-year-old Sidney Eagle of Berlin, was removed from the car and transported by Showell emergency medical services to Atlantic General Hospital in critical condition. Eagle was later reportedly taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center where officials say he was later pronounced dead.

The crash is reportedly under investigation by the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit, and anyone with information on the crash is asked to call 410-632-1112.
