Balanced Attack Power Colonels Girls Soccer Past Eagles

The Colonel Richardson girls soccer team picked up a nice conference road win Monday night when they defeated Colonel Richardson 5-2. The win improves the Colonels to 2-7, while the Eagles fall to 0-9.

The Colonels came out firing in the first half, building a 2-0 lead after firing several shots on goal, including a big score from Annie Harris. Down at the break, the Eagles came out firing in the second half. North Dorchester would climb within a score after Kayla Diggs would get a pass on a break away and finish far post. But CR would be swift in their response. First, Kayla Archer would send a cross into the box where Maddy Christopher would finish at the far post. Then just minutes later, Harris would add another score off a break away. Then the Colonels lead would stretch to 4 after a free kick into the box would be sent home by Cassandra Brey. The Eagles would get a score back late after Brie Bates would get a step on her defender and finish. But that’s as close as they were going to get as Colonel would close it out for the win.

Both teams return to action on Tuesday when they face off against one another again, but this time at Colonel.
