12-year-old referred for malicious burning

On Monday, members of the Easton Police Department referred a 12-year-old boy to the Department of Juvenile Justice for malicious burning.

According to officials, police were called to Magnolia Meadows around 4PM for reports about a mulch fire.

When officers arrived, they say they saw that mulch and several bushes had been burnt near the entrance to the complex.

After speaking with witnesses, police were able to figure out that a 12-year-old boy had been seen in the area of the bushes as the fire began.

The juvenile was referred and released to a guardian.
