Worcester County Declaration of Emergency remains in place

With Tropical Storm Hermine apparently moving east away from the Atlantic Coast, the Worcester County Emergency Services Emergency Operations Center in Snow Hill has discontinued emergency staffing levels and has resumed standard operations.
However, they have announced that the Worcester County Declaration of Emergency remains in place, and WCES staff will continue to monitor the effects of storm surge on the County’s inland and coastal waterways during high tide cycles through Monday night.
Concerning beach openings:
- Assateague will remain closed as long as there are tropical storm warnings in effect
- Janes Island, Pocomoke, and Point Look Out will be opening
- The National Seashore of Assateague will be opening the North Day Use area, but not for camping
