Woman refuses to loose her hair to chemo

Breast Cancer awareness month is right around the corner and 47 ABC is already on the front line advocating for women and their families that are effected by this disease.
April Higgins is a Laurel Resident with two daughters. She also is a cheer leading coach, tutor, and an active community member. On July 19th she received the devastating news that she had breast cancer and her only option is chemo. So, her family and friends gathered together today at Sheer Envy salon in Laurel for the Embracing the Bald ceremony. Here, they helped Higgins beat chemo at the job.
“Instead of chemo taking her hair she decided that the people that she loves come together and do it, together,” said Jennifer Higgins, April’s cousin. April will undergo chemo on Friday.
